The view you already have
Start where you're staying: the tower's north-east corner takes the Torrens, the Oval and the hills in one frame — best at first light when the river carries the colour and again at dusk when the city grid lights up in order. Golden hour: the terrace and the roof climb
The events terrace holds the city's most civilised sunset — west over the river with something cold in hand. For the bigger version, the Oval roof climb puts you on the stadium's white ribs with the whole grid below; the twilight sessions sell out days ahead in summer, so the desk books them early.
Night: the hills and the sea
Two drives earn their thirty minutes: Windy Point lookout on the hills' edge for the city laid out like circuitry, and the Port Willunga cliff line for sunset over Gulf St Vincent — the photograph every Adelaidean has on their phone. For the grid from the tower: morning light is side-lit and forgiving; blue hour (twenty minutes after sunset) gives the richest city shots; a phone braced on the glass with the room dark behind it beats any amateur tripod.
